THE TRICK-TAKING GAME WITH A PENTACLE OF ADVANTAGE
BRISQUETTO® is a tactical trick-taking game where players face off in a duel of pure strategy. Manipulate the deck, anticipate your opponent’s moves, and master the Pentacle of Advantage in a battle between five competing factions, where strength matters less than cunning.
In a universe governed by the forces of destiny and spiritual power, five great powers vie for control of the balance between the worlds. Through the Pentacle of Advantage, the outcome of every clash never depends on mere numerical superiority, but on a complex and dynamic circular hierarchy in which each Faction possesses the absolute power to overwhelm its rivals.
Each player must guide their hand through a challenge of ingenuity, foresight and tactical control in order to capture the highest-value cards and outmanoeuvre their opponent.
The primary aim of every player is to accumulate as many points as possible by strategically taking cards from the table. The game ends when the deck runs out and the last card in a player’s hand is played; however, victory goes to the player who, by forming special combinations and reading their opponents’ moves, has achieved the highest final score.
No single card is enough on its own to guarantee success: the outcome of each trick depends on how skilfully players utilise the Pentacle hierarchy and make the most of the unique abilities of the five Factions featured in the game:
A Faction’s true tactical strength is revealed when higher-value cards are played: from medium-value cards right up to the Ace and the unpredictable Joker, the power of the effects increases dramatically, altering the rules of the current hand. Furthermore, victory depends on creating Special Combinations in your own trick pile:

No, BRISQUETTO can also be played by three or four players in a free-for-all format; however, the Advantage Pentacle and the hand management system were primarily designed and balanced to offer maximum control and psychological tension in a head-to-head (one-on-one) match, or in a team format (two-on-two).
As this is a card game, there is an element of chance, but it is greatly mitigated. The ability to manipulate the deck (drawing, discarding, swapping and peeking) and the circular mechanics of the Pentacle allow players to turn numerically weak cards to their advantage. Victory depends on the ability to memorise the cards that have been played, anticipate your opponent’s moves and form the right Special Combinations.
No. The game is completely language-independent: text appears only in the instruction manual and on the summary cards, whilst the game cards use an intuitive system of icons to indicate effects and their values.
Certainly. As this is a card game in which the cards are constantly shuffled and handled, we recommend sleeving them. The game box has been designed to comfortably hold all the cards (standard Euro Poker) even when protected by premium-thickness sleeves.
A game lasts an average of 30 minutes, making it the perfect game for both quick sessions and immediate rematches. It takes up very little space: all you need is the draw pile, the two cards played on the table, and space for the players’ trick piles.
The base game is a complete and self-contained experience; however, we are already exploring additional modules, such as new factions and game variants, which may be released in future standalone boxes.
Simply adjust the quantity: perform the effect by applying it to the exact number of cards currently in the deck. If the deck is completely empty, the effect does not trigger.
No. The effects resolve immediately when the card is played. The first player plays the card and resolves its effect; only once the effect has been fully resolved may the second player play their card and, in turn, resolve any effect it may have.
The opponent places all the cards in their hand at the bottom of their deck and draws exactly the same number from the top.
No. If the two cards played belong to different Factions, the dominant Faction – as determined by the Advantage Pentacle hierarchy – always wins, regardless of the numerical value (e.g. a 2 from the Faith Faction captures an Ace from the Chaos Faction). The numerical values are compared only if both cards belong to exactly the same Faction.
No. It is strictly forbidden to look at your own hand or your opponent’s hand until the final score has been calculated.
No, the Joker is worth 0 base points. Its strength lies in its unique ability to act as a wild card to replace a missing card in a Tris, a Brisqué or a Straight.
No, the regulation states that the higher-value combination cancels out and replaces the lower-value one. In this case, you must count only the Brisqué points (10 points) and not the Tris points.
